Description

Spirale ashtray by Alessi features a stainless steel bowl fitted with a spring that serves as a cigarette holder and which can be removed to easily clean the bowl.

A clever redesign of the original ashtray dated back on the 70’ and one of the most recognizable products from Alessi. Spirale is included in several museum collections around the world.

Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1970, Spiral is characterized by a form of timeless elegance, offering an innovative and evident solution for a variety of problems.

Spirale consists of a bowl and a spiral that lies around the border of the ashtray and offers safe setting of cigarettes, so that they will not fall into the ashtray.

The grooves of the spiral naturally hold your favorite smoke, so it does not rest on the cold ash below. The spiral and dish separate easily for emptying and cleaning.

The Spirale Ashtray is more than a hint of retro appeal. It displays the designer’s love for elegant practicality, as well as an enjoyment of the simple pleasures and finer things in life.

This design was originally produced in silvered metal by Bacci in Bologna, and was adopted by Achille Castiglioni for Alessi in 1986 with a number of modifications to its shape and size.
