Description

Kintsugi Soup Bowl N.2 from Seletti is a unique design that will stand out at the dinner table. Designed by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba for Seletti, it takes inspiration from Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold as a sign of respect to the object’s history.

The Kintsugi porcelain bowl is glorified and enriched with gold fragments for a tableware collection made of charming and unexpected compositions.

Featuring porcelain fragments in different patterns, the veins holding the pieces together are made from precious 24ct gold for a luxurious finish.

The Kintsugi collection draws inspiration from the Kintsugi technique that originated in Japan and involves the use of precious metals such as 24-karat gold, to repair porcelain vessels.

This technique of porcelain repair comes from the philosophy of wanting to transform and restore life to a broken or cracked object and therefore no longer usable, making it even more valuable than before repair.

A transformation that in addition to the value of the object itself gives it a new appearance and allows it to be used again. Seletti with the Kintsugi porcelain line dedicates an entire collection to decorate the table.

Tableware collection that evokes the ancient Japanese art that exalts fragility by joining fragments with gold.
